He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul "Cajun" Cardenas Sr. and Nettie De Coux; and his sister Ellen Grafton. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cardenas; his stepdaughters, Wendy Jones (Warren) and Elena Orsot (Samuel); his grandchildren, Hannah Shafer (Billy), Jada Jones, Sophia Moore and Michael Bertrand Jr.; his great grandchild Emiberleigh Bertrand; and his sisters, Martha, Karen and Theresa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
