It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Chenier of Lake Charles, Louisiana, born in Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Brisco and Lou Lastrapes Brisco; her godson Darrel Richard; her sister Frances Richard; and her siblings-in-law, Francis Xavier Richard and Patricia Brisco.
She is survived by: her husband John Chenier (Matt); her children, Keisha Bowman, Mandi Whidbee (Andre), Skylar Hunt, Henry Hunt V (LaQuienta), Brandon Chenier (Alisha) and Jeremy Chenier (Ashlynn); her siblings, Michael Brisco, Frank Brisco Jr. (Charlene), Nazirahk Amen (N'Amana), Cheryl Brisco-Phillips, Edna Marie Brisco, Michelle Brisco-Fields (Paris) and Joseph Glasper; her mother-in-law Mary Enola Chenier; her grandchildren, Robert (Trey), Kosey, Kadance, Taylor, Skylar P, Hayli, Henry VI (Alex), Harley, Kaleb, Lyric, Rylee, Alaysia and Jeremiah; and her godchildren, Kristen Richard (Shay) and Channon Chenier. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff (2171 US-171, Lake Charles, LA 70611). A rosary was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (2031 Opelousas St, Lake Charles, LA 70601).
She had a generous spirit, regularly donating to her favorite charities.
