She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nelson and Margie Estelle Thomas Nelson; her husband Herbert Gibson, Jr.; and her son Gary Gibson. She is survived by: her daughter Gay Lynn Gibson (Brian); her grandchildren, Tracy Reed (Aaron), Jennifer Dimas, Benjamin Dimas (Tracie) and Rhiannon Gibson; her siblings, Don Nelson (Donna), Cora Hammock and Ruby Santy; her sister-in-law Carolyn Hebert; and her caregivers, Darla Chaffin and Wanda Owens. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Samaritans Purse, or a charity of your choice in Mrs. Gibson's memory.
