He is survived by: his wife Beverly Layne Koenig; his children, Mark Koenig (Veanice), Brent Koenig (Melanie) and Claire Guth (Charles); his grandchildren, Brandy Pearce (Jay), Neil Koenig (Lindsey), Edward Guth (Yasmin), Sarah Hyde (Christopher), Becky Koenig, Michael Koenig (Brittany) and Hannah Kubisch (Austin); and his great grandchildren, John Kyle, Savannah Pearce, Ty Koenig, Adalie, Matilda Guth, Caden, Madelyn, Collin Hyde, Kate and Laura Koenig.
Viewing was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (4321 Lake St, Lake Charles, LA 70605). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donation be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in Charles honor.
