With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Amanda Jolene Strickland in Lake Charles, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her husband Alvin C. Strickland, Sr.; her parents, Mark Winkley Locke and Peggy E. J. Markasich; and her adoptive parents, John Oscar Johnson (Sabery Estelle Taylor Johnson) and Sabery Estelle Taylor Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Lynn Terrell (James) of Gulfport and Alvin C. Strickland, Jr. (Jennifer) of Lake Charles, LA; her brother Steven Ferenz of Albuquerque, NM; and her grandchildren, Derek Hardison, Thomas Tucker, Sarah Lea and Adam Wade Strickland. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family has requested that any donations be made by check, payable to CCOA, in the name of Amanda Strickland for Moss Bluff Senior Center.
