He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Richard and Dorothy Belair Richard; and his brother Alvin Richard. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Richard; his children, Chad Richard (Monica) and Aretha Manuel (Cecil); his stepchildren, Jeff Dewitt and Connie Dewitt; his brother Lance Richard; his grandchildren, Taylor Manuel Tucker, Paul Manuel, Alli Manuel, Sarah Richard Guillory, Marshall Richard, Ashley Richard and Kristina Richard Phillips; and his stepgrandchildren, Seth Richard and Kelly Bouley. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Viewing was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Miguez Funeral Home - Lake Arthur (829 4th St, Lake Arthur, LA 70549). A rosary was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (203 Commercial Ave, Lake Arthur, LA 70549). A burial was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (1620 Evangeline Hwy, Jennings, LA 70546).
