He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Benoit and Arthur Benoit; his brothers, Chester and Harry Benoit; and his grandsons, Joshua and Andrew Bottom.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Benoit of Lafayette; his children, Tammy Hornsby (Barry) of Lafayette, Tricia Bottom (Michael) of Parker, CO and Troy Benoit of Youngsville; his grandchildren, Tyler Hornsby, Kristin Gonzales, Taylor Moore, Jordan Bottom, Lindsey Bottom, Kay Bourgeois and Jared Benoit; his great grandchildren, Luke Hornsby, C. J. Gonzales, William Gonzales, Andrew Moore, Peyton Bourgeois and Saige Bourgeois; and his stepgreat-grandson Carson Bourgeois.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Walters Funeral Home (2424 N University Ave, Lafayette, LA 70507). A rosary was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Elizabeth Seton Church (610 Rain Tree Trail, Lafayette, LA 70507). A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St Leo IV Roman Catholic Church (7166 Roberts Cove Rd, Rayne, LA 70578).
