It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Theresa Veronie Pitre of Lafayette, Louisiana, born in Rayne, Louisiana, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Morise Veronie and Elidia Arabie Veronie; her son Morris Guidry; her grandson Benjamin Guidry; and her siblings, Louis Veronie, Dennis Veronie, Dudley Veronie, Curly Veronie, Abbie Veronie, Bernice Veronie and Flora Mae "Honor" Veronie.
She is survived by: her children, Leslie Pitre (Nathalie) of Judice, LA, Darlene Guidry of Lafayette, LA and Georgette Pitre Villien of Scott, LA; her grandchildren, Jared Dupuis (Tyla), Jason Vincent (Julie), Stuart Villien (Kristy), Theresa Goodrich (Bobby), Spencer Villien, Beau Pitre, Trey Pitre (Ali), Elijah Pitre, Jude Guidry, Alicia Pitre and Sophie Jimenez; and her great grandchildren, Mollie Villien, Hannah Glasgow, Carson Goodrich, Layne Goodrich, Nathan Pitre, Zyla Pitre, Cooper Dupuy, Cameron Pitre, Justice Dupuis, Baylen Dupuis, Dayten Dupuis, Jude Vincent, Corinne Vincent and Jude Guidry, Jr.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Fountain Memorial Funeral Home (1010 Pandora St, Lafayette, LA 70506). A rosary was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
