He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabelle Cecilia Broussard Elder and William Stanley Elder, Sr.; and his brother William Stanley Elder, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Tommie Hodges Elder of Lafayette; his children, Kristy Carriere (Michael) of Baton Rouge, Michael George Elder of Lafayette, LA and Benjamin Eric Elder (Emily) of Covington, LA; his grandchildren, Molli Elise Carriere, Anna Katherine Carriere and Luke William Elder; and his caregiver Amy.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Fountain Memorial Funeral Home (1010 Pandora St, Lafayette, LA 70506). A memorial service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
