He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Melancon, Sr. of Lafayette and Enola Broussard Melancon; and his brothers, Charles Melancon, Francis Melancon Jr. and Joseph Melancon.
He is survived by: his child BJ Smith (Jelisa) of Shreveport; and his grandchildren, Kelsa Melancon of Lafayette, La Kayla Jones (Kenneth) of Carencro and La Kaylon Melancon (Brianna) of Houston.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Kinchen Funeral Home (1011 N St Antoine St, Lafayette, LA 70501). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
