James Leo Allen Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Allen and Dorothy Schmidt Allen; his son John Alan Leach; and his granddaughter Rachel Murphy. He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Embry and Violet Russo; his wife Judy Holland Allen of Lafayette; his children, Stephen Leach of Coral Springs, FL, Deborah Holder (Bill) of Huntsville, AL, Linda Allen of Pensacola, FL, Laura Allen of Titusville, FL and Shannon Hamlett of Lubbock, TX; his grandchildren, Jeremy Morrow, Shawn Murphy, Jessica Morrow, Melissa, Ronde, Jamie Penn, Joshua Leach, Stephen Aymond, Sam Weinstein, Hannah Reyes, Katherine Hamlett, Margeli Hamlett and Sarah Hamlett; his brother Dr. John W. Allen (Tedi); his nieces, Carley and Maya Allen; his nephew Jeffery Allen of San Diego, CA.; and his grandsons, Samuel Weinstein, Gaddiel Reyes, Karl Howard and Ashley Rhoney. He is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4117 N University Ave, Carencro, LA 70520). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested.
