She was predeceased by: her husband Wilbert Gary; her parents, Louis Meche and Beatrice Meche; and her siblings, Lloyd Meche, Emery Meche, Melvin Meche and Onera Brasseaux.

She is survived by: her children, Claire Domingue (Dwayne) of Lafayette, Perry Gary (Audrey) of Rayne, Neal Gary (Pam) of Lafayette, David Gary (Melinda) of Carencro and Jeff Gary (Danette) of Lafayette; and her sisters, Iris Boudreaux of Rayne and Benita Bergeron of Lafayette. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Walters Funeral Home (2424 N University Ave, Lafayette, LA 70507). A rosary was held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
