He was predeceased by: his parents, Ophis Darby and Pauline Wiltz; his grandchild Dewance Taylor; and his siblings, Alida Como, Dudley, Lloyd, Dalton, Roosevelt, Wallace and Rufus.
He is survived by: his son Mitchell Breaux (Jennifer Papillion); his sister Lydia Stewart of Dayton, TX; his grandchildren, David Taylor, Jr., Diva Anderson (Lamar), Dion Taylor, Alysia George, Auriel Darby, Meghan A. Breaux and Mitchell Breaux II; and his goddaughters, Cherie Darby Amest and Denise Hudson. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (615 Edison St, Lafayette, LA 70501). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
