He was predeceased by: his parents, Lovenia Lee and Chester Gibson, Sr.; his grandparents, Melinda Brooks, Nelson Lee, Jack and Aline Gibson; his great-niece Julie Ann Piper; and his brother-in-law Frankie E. Flugence.
He is survived by: his daughter LaToya Malveaux (Bryant); his siblings, Melinda Flugence, Sarah Clabon and Jester Clabon; his stepdaughter Iesha Holmes; his grandchildren, DeAnza Guidry (Joe), Jawaun Montgomery, Isah Walker and Ja'Rhnae Runnels; his great grandchildren, Ty'rin Bernard and Khloee'Batiste; and his godchildren, Steven Landry and Kenvern Mitchell. He is also survived by nieces, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and stepsisters.
