He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bennett and Nell Bennett; and his brother Ronald Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Cecile Antoinette "Toni" Bennett; his sons, Charles "Wes" Bennett, Jr. (Kim) of Lafayette, Stephen Bennett (Melisa) of Pearland and Robert Bennett (Stephanie) of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Erin Bennett Broussard, Emily Bennett McDonald, Chris Bennett, Julia Bennett, Ian Bennett, Andrew Bennett, Ruston Bennett and Adler Bennett; his great grandchildren, Payton Broussard, Emily Broussard, Cooper McDonald and Rory McDonald; and his siblings, Jim Bennett (Jenny) of Jersey Village, Karen Bennett Carpenter (Eddie) of Pollock, Kathy Bennett Arnold (Darrell) of Alexandria and Betty Bennett Whitehead (late John) of Natchitoches. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church (400 Camellia Blvd, Lafayette, LA 70503).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Buddy to Hospice of Acadiana and St. Jude's.
