Burnell is survived by: wife Patsy Legnion Martin of Crowley; sisters, Linda West (Ray) of Breaux Bridge and Joyce Meche (Steven) of Breaux Bridge; and grandchildren, Nadia Farque (Jared) of Ragley and Hailey Martin of Atlanta, GA. Burnell is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
