She was predeceased by: her husband John D. "JD" Sam Sr.; her parents, Stephen Thomas and Virginia Thomas; her brothers, Larry and Daryl Thomas; her nephew Dustin Thomas; and her niece Edith Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, John Sam Jr. (Erica), Dane Sam (Amy) and Devin Sam Eaglin (Bryant); and her grandchildren, Jady Cleary, Jamal Paul Jr., Kadence Sam, Donray Williams, Jacob Sam, Joni Eaglin and Jonah Eaglin. She is also survived by siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Syrie Funeral Home (1417 E Simcoe St, Lafayette, LA 70501). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
