He is survived by: his children, David Whittington, Jr. (Gena) of Bayou Current and Charlotte Stelly (David) of Krotz Springs; and his grandchildren, Amanda Barker (Darrell), Jenny Richard (Belton), Jenna Leger (Aaron), Kalen Stelly (Kaitlin), Hannah Whittington (Evan), Grace Stelly and Faith Stelly. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews.
