He is survived by: his wife Patricia Desoto Bernard; his children, Donald Bernard, Jr. of Pineville, Melissa Laborde (Keith) of Moreauville and Becky Bernard (Kenneth Ray) of Clinton, Louisiana; his sisters, Mary Weatherford (John) of Kolin and Christine Scallan of Plaucheville; and his granddaughters, Brittany Bernard (Brandon Johnson) and Tiffany Bernard Westeen (Loyal). He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
