He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Evans, Sr.; his son Jean Luke Evans; his mother Juliette Swarner (Sue); and his grandparents, Fred, Selena Jopes, Reverend Arthur and Mary Miller.
He is survived by: his former wife Adrienne Evans; his children, Lelande Joseph Evans and Le'Ann Jones (Terry Jones); his grandsons, Graham Jones and Isaiah Jones; his brother Lionel "Poochie" Evans (Lois Evans); and his nephew Joshua Evans. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and relatives.
