He was predeceased by: his parents, Elie and Theolite; his daughter Eve Smith Guilbeau; and his siblings, Elmo Smith, Margie Poimboeuf and Faye McMahon.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Shively; his daughters, Sandra Fontenot (Larry) of Oberlin and Tracy Maskas (Jim) of Lakeland; his siblings, Leonard Smith (Evaline) of DeRidder and Gertrude Daigle of Church Point; his grandchildren, Thomas Fontenot, Katie Ortego, Justin Fontenot of Oberlin, Maria Guilbeau of Dallas, Catherine Guilbeau of Pittsburgh, Ellie Maskas, Victoria Maskas, Olivia Maskas and James Maskas of Lakeland; and his great grandchildren, Eli Fontenot, Nicholas, Tatum and Lauren Ortego.
