It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Lee Morehead of Kilbourne, Louisiana, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin B. Morehead; her parents, Levi Milton Matthews and Jessie Era Davis (McGee); her grandson Jason Hankins; her siblings, Milton Matthews, Ruby Hankins and Clotele Garner; and her son Lee Willis.
She is survived by: her sons, James (Bo Hankins) and Roger; her daughter-in-law Joann Hankins of Newellton; her daughter Belinda; her son-in-law Kent Sibley of Kilbourne, Louisiana; her daughter Faye Willis of Kilbourne; her grandchildren, Ericka Harlow (Kenny), Jamie Hankins (Danielle), Justin Hankins, Brittany Sanders (Scotty), Matthew Sibley (Louanne), Kristal Ferguson (Ethan), Sidney Langston (Taylor), Shelby Nichols (Tylar) and Austin Usry; and her sisters, Edith Faye Austin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Thelma Mrriett of Newellton. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kilbourne Baptist Church (415 Center St, Kilbourne, LA 71253). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Legion Memorial Cemetery.
