He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Newman, Richard S. Simmons (Patricia) and Gary B. Simmons; and his siblings, Jeanette Maxie, Patsy Dillon, Iris Kay Walker and Percy Simmons. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
