He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Pilet, Jr. and Dardanella Smith Pilet. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Shaver Pilet; his children, Christine Pilet Huber (Keith J. Huber) and James A. Pilet IV (Rebecca Colclough); his grandchildren, Catherine Huber, Megan Huber, Lauren Huber and Chloe Pilet; and his sister Joan Pilet Bonnett (Joe Bonnett). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home (4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70006). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (5190 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
