She was predeceased by: her parent Dee; and her brothers, Charlie Robert and James Melvin Slan Sr.. She is survived by: her children, TJ (Misasha), Nkenge, Ceketa and Tarana; her brother Willie Jr. (Anne); her grandsons, Kyuji, Reizo, Zaire and Nassir; and her nieces and nephews, Mia Slan, Darneisha Grant Harrison, Chantay Graves, Natasha Slan, Melvin Slan, Chris Slan and Michael Slan. She is also survived by cousins, other family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the True Light Bapist Church (3836 North St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, October 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Louisiana National Cemetery (303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791).
