With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Claire McAvoy Varvaro (Kenner, Louisiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Claire McAvoy may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Claire McAvoy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Joseph M. Varvaro and Donald W. Smith; her son-in-law Richard J. Scallan, Sr.; her parents, Arthur J. McAvoy and Merle B. McAvoy; and her siblings, Arthur J. McAvoy, Jr. and Shirley M. Dehring.
She is survived by: her daughter Dixie Smith Scallan.
