He is survived by: his wife Goldie Lynn Istre; his parents, Audrey Istre and Paul Istre; his stepchildren, Daimen Desormeaux and Derek Desormeaux; his stepgranddaughter Jane Desormeaux; and his siblings, Norma Duhon (Clarence), Elizabeth Broussard (Brian), Paula Touchet (Ricky) and Philip Istre (Jenna).
