He was predeceased by: his former wives, Velma Cormier and Flo Frantez; his wife Joyce Connors; his son Marcelius Cormier, Jr.; his parents, Alcide Joseph Cormier and Olita Abshire; his grandson Jed Abshire; his great grandchildren, Hailey and Bailey Vigneaux; his sons-in-law, Russell Abshire, Ronnie Hebert and Glenn Lange; and his siblings, Elizabeth Broussard, Leonie Turner, Ursin Cormier and Antoine Cormier.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Patrick Cormier of Abbeville, Robert Brent Cormier (Brenda) of Kaplan, Shirley O'Bryan (Patrick) of Esther, Callie Cormier Abshire of Kaplan, Norma Theall (Danny) of Kaplan and Theresa Cormier (Preston) of Kaplan; and his siblings, Beatrice Benoit of Kaplan and Elzie "Red" Cormier of Lake Charles. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
