She was predeceased by: her husband Otto Istre; her parents, Clemence Fontenot, Sr. and Agnes Elizabeth Hebert Fontenot; her daughter Brenda Istre Fruge; her son-in-law Lawless Fruge; and her siblings, Mervis Joseph "Joe" Fontenot, Dallas Anthony Fontenot, Clemence Fontenot, Jr., Robert John Fontenot, Sr., Marjorie Marie Fontenot, May Rose Fontenot Abshire and Ella Jane Fontenot Landry.
She is survived by: her daughter Peggy Istre Suire (Lloyd) of Gueydan; and her grandchildren, Shannan Suire Zaunbrecher Waits (Hilton), Andrea Suire Zaunbrecher (Ronny), Jason Suire (Darla), Heather Fruge Cormier (Kevin) and Bonnie Fruge Monceaux (Casey). She is also survived by ten great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
