He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Boutte and Ena Meaux; his sister Shirley Guidry; and his pets, Toejeaux, Peanut and Tippy.
He is survived by: his wife Robbie B. Boutte of Kaplan; his children, Danny Boutte of Kaplan, Brian Boutte of Kaplan, Brent Boutte (Cindy) of Broussard, Chris Boutte of Kaplan, Howard Boutte, Jr. of Lake Charles, Janet Boutte of Kaplan, Patricia Garcia (Ruben) of Houston, TX, Laura Richoux (Dee) of Kaplan and Crystal Boutte of Lake Charles; and his pets, Liljeaux and Lucy. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
