She was predeceased by: her father Walter Russell Abney, Jr.; her stepparents, Edith Pittman Abney (Mary Genevieve Nunez Laughin) and Hines Curtis "Buster" Laughin; her daughter Shasta James Howard (Chris) of Longview, TX; her brother Hines Curtis Laughin; and her nephew Mark Laughin.
She is survived by: her son Kyle Howard (Cora) of Forked Island; her sister Kathleen Laughlin Sekhani (Tom) of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Kahal Nelson Howard (Sonja) of Bell City and Kasie Beth Howard (Derrick Blackwell) of Lake Charles; her great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Howard of Bell City and Dak Blackwell of Lake Charles; her stepgrandchildren, Marsha Hardy Granger (Ken) of Youngsville, Kelly Hardy (Shea) of Ft. Walton Beach and Jennifer Hardy Curtright (Christian) of Milford, KA; her nephew Kevin Sekhani (Katrina) of Lafayette; her niece Sheila Trahan (Jarred) of Breaux Bridge; and her sister-in-law Marella Simon Laughlin of Carencro. She is also survived by seven step great grandchildren; five step great-great grandchildren.
