He was predeceased by: his parents, L. G. Matte and Mae Rose Matte; his parents-in-law, James "Jimmy" Jones and Peggy Ann Hill Jones; his siblings, Cheryl Ann Matte, Patricia Rose Matte and Patrick Wayne Matte; and his son-in-law Cori Wayne Duhon.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Ann Jones Matte; and his children, Melissa Matte Duhon, David Matte (Shantell Richard Matte) and Richard Matte (Jenny Gaspard Matte).
