He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Punchard and Myrtis Punchard; his sons, Mack Punchard and Matthew Punchard; and his siblings, Johnny Punchard, Jessie Grantham and Sally Simms.

He is survived by: his wife Liz Punchard of Jonesville; his son R. J. Punchard (Missy) of Sicily Island; his siblings, Leon Punchard (Judy) of Jonesville and Vergie May Hamilton of Bella Vista, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Destiny Bruce (Ken), Morgan Punchard, Roger Punchard, Lee Punchard (Claire) and Hailee Punchard; and his great grandchildren, Emma Atkinson, Evangeline Punchard, Juli Bruce and Dimitri Bruce. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
