He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Taunton and Ruby Dosher Taunton; his stepmother Eunice Taunton; his son Jackie Dale; and his siblings, Joe, Jimmy Earl, Georgia and Ruby Jean Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Iris McClure Taunton; his children, Richard Benjamin (Connie) and Connie Taunton Manning (Buddy); and his grandchildren, Logan Taunton (Christina), Micah Taunton (Emma), Matt Taunton (Jamie), Brandon Manning, Becky Manning Akins (John), Katie Taunton Smith (Jere) and Sonni Manning Davis (Dustin). He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
