He was predeceased by: his grandson Justin Ponder; his parents, John Henry Ponder and Daisy Annette Ponder Grissom (Durbin); and his brother James Michael "Mike" Ponder. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Ponder (Brymer); his children, Jeanne Ray, Jason Ponder, Johnette Ponder, Joy Ponder and Melissa Herman (Jeff); his grandchildren, Corey Ray, Casey Ray, Carey Ray and Joshua Ponder; his siblings, Sherry Atkins, Patricia Maxwell and Barry Ponder (Karen); and his pets, Teevo and Roody.
