He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman LaFollette and Lucille Hemphill; his daughter Amy (Patsy Stewart); and his siblings, Bobby, Charles, Billy, Virginia Hutchins and Peggy Busby.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kim (Alex) and Shannon Stassen (Robert); his grandchildren, Lathan Wise and Halle Wise; his brother Danny (Ann Garlington); and also, Peanut and Little Bit.
