He was predeceased by: his parents, Genius Guidry and Nedia Trahan Guidry; his wife Una Marie Roche Guidry; his children, Charlotte Ann Guidry, Darrell J. Guidry and Joseph L. Guidry, Jr.; his siblings, Eula Broussard, Dorothy Broussard, Joyce Gaspard, Charlie, Wallace and Rufus Guidry; and his grandsons, Craig and Derrick Guidry.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Fontenot (Ricky) of Ville Platte and Robert "Bobby" Guidry (Mellany Walenta) of Richmond, TX; and his daughter-in-law Sandra Guidry. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
