He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Emerson and Vicie "Vicki" Mae Fontenot Bolles; his son John Emerson Bolles, II; and his siblings, Avy Ellen Soileau and Gary Keith Bolles.
He is survived by: his wife Mattie Copenhaver Bolles; his children, DaNae Cole (Stephen) of Spring, TX and Shane Bolles (Belinda) of Jennings; his sister Deloris Pitre of Elton; his grandchildren, Jason Bolles (Sheleece), Brett Bolles (Courtney), Kristin Rames (Martin), Julia Cole, Elizabeth Bolles and Emily Cole; and his great grandchildren, Emmie, Abby, Everley and Emmett Bolles.
