He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Batey and Mary S. Batey; his son Ronnie Batey, Sr.; his grandson Ronnie Batey, Jr.; and his sisters, Lela "Bell" Batey, Joyce Bass and Sadie "Mae" Trahan.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Batey; his daughter Marie Batey; and his parents-in-law, Darrell, Cindy Batey of Vidalia, Gwen, Les Castle of Jennings, Gary, Benita Batey of Galveston, TX and Kim Batey Hurt of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
