He is survived by: his wife Theresa Hanks Richard of Lake Charles, LA; his daughter Jennifer Fontenot Williams; his son-in-law Danny Thacker; his brother Elvie Reed Richard; his grandchildren, Megan Fontenot and Cameron Lane Fontenot; and his great grandchild Malachi Johnson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Matthews Funeral Home - Jennings (511 N Cutting Ave, Jennings, LA 70546). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Istre Cemetery (2326 Swift Rd, Morse, LA 70559).
