He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfield Carroll Whitman and Lillian Josephine Barbin; his siblings, Gretchen Bonnin, Mary Marjorie Stinson (Tootsie) and Don Whitman; and his grandson Christopher James Whitman.
He is survived by: his wife Bette; his children, Mary Beth, Barbara Clare, William Charles and Michael Patrick; and his grandchildren, Mary Beth Whitman Goodrich (Jeff), Barbara Whitman Padron (Henry), Bill Whitman, Mike Whitman (Ted Clarkson), Grant, Connor, Joshua, Ally, Coby, Dillan, Matthew and Sara.
