He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Lawrence and Mildred Cormier Newman; and his daughter Kristen Gary. He is survived by: his children, Lelia Duval and Joshua Newman; and his siblings, Katy Fontenot (Darrell), Mona Collier, Roger Newman (Judy) and Mark Newman (Tammie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
