He was predeceased by: his parents, Octave Deshotel and Marie Guidry Deshotel; his wife Emily David Deshotel; his daughter Patricia LaCombe; his brothers, Ivan and Lawrence Deshotel; and his granddaughter Loretta Lewis.
He is survived by: his children, Celina Kratzer (Jim) of Roanoke, Norma Velasquez (Nicolas) of Lake Charles, Annette Kendall of Welsh, Christal Souder (Hank) of Jennings, Jimmy Deshotel (Martha) of Elton, Bob Ray Deshotel of Jennings and Timothy Deshotel (Barbara) of Jennings. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
