He is survived by: his children, Allen Jerry Istre Jr. (Kim), Daniel Wade Istre (Susan), Joy Faith Istre Comeaux (Brian), Vivian Hope Kirby (Stan), Robin Claudette Istre, Jody Lee Istre and Jayneen Marie Mann (late Rodney Mann); and his brother Robert Wade Istre (Claudia). He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
