He was predeceased by: his parents, R. J. Bridges and Juanita Aiken Bridges; and his brother Richard A. Bridges. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smith Bridges; his brother Raymond Smith (Ethel); his sister-in-law Barbara Bridges; and his nieces and nephews, Bo Smith (Amy), Patrick Smith (Nicole) and Nita Bridges DeVille.
