He was predeceased by: his parents, Elton Benson and Katie Benson (Reitzell); his wife Juanita Clayton Benson; his son Kenneth Benson; and his siblings, Fred Benson, Leonard Benson, Ruby Eason and Mary Jane Goodwin.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Crooks (Carlos) of Jena; his grandchildren, Amber Adams (Isaac), Blake Crooks (Leigh Ann) and Meagan Robbins (Robbie); his great grandchildren, Eli Adams, Gage Crooks, Reid Robbins, Luke Adams and Marli Crooks; and his niece Judy Ogden.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home (11886 US-84, Jena, LA 71342). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (5933 Aimwell Rd, Jena, LA 71342).
