He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Purvis, Sr. and Eller Mae Telsede; and his brothers, Joseph Purvis and Julius Purvis, Jr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Celestine Campbell, Lillie Finister (Jimmy Sr.), Willie Purvis, Sr. (Gloria) and Bobby Purvis, Sr. (Carolas); his stepbrother Wilford Coleman; his children, Michelle Purvis-Patterson (Randel), ShaWanna Purvis-Pitre (Vincent, Sr.), Billy R. Purvis, Jr. (Melissa), Bryant R. Purvis, Derek Katie-Purvis and Johnathan Lee Finch; his stepchildren, Kayla Stokes, Brittany Stokes and John Stokes; and his close friend Jennifer Masters. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great great grandson; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
