He was predeceased by: his parents, Irma Owens Buteaux and Wilfred "Jack" Buteaux Sr.; his siblings, Alice Buteaux, Hazel Buteaux, Pat Buteaux, Wilfred "Bud" Buteaux Jr., Norris "Nookie" Buteaux and Dale Buteaux; his former wife Rebecca Mayer Buteaux; and his brother Norman.
He is survived by: his former wife Rebecca Gail Mayer; his wife Pat Sinitiere Buteaux; his children, Christina "Christy" Buteaux Vilcan (Robert) of Charenton, Rebecca Buteaux Savoie (Lawless) of Jeanerette, Wanda Buteaux Guillotte of Jeanerette, Oswald "Eboo" Buteaux Jr. of Jeanerette, Happy Allen Buteaux (Fonda) of New Iberia and Nicholas "Nick" Buteaux (Kerrie) of Coteau; his stepson Class Sherel Sinitiere (Alisha) of Fort Drum; and his brother Leonard "Bot" Buteaux of Rynella. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one great grandson.
