It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie Higgins Jr. (Jeanerette, Louisiana), who passed away on January 12, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Lee and Nina Higgins; his son Johnny Higgins; and his siblings, Nellie Persilver and James Howard Higgins.
He is survived by: his child Ophema McQuiston (Steve, Calvin Higgins, Sr.); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Higgins; his sister Vera Bull of Forney, TX; and his spouse Annie Kelley Higgins. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
