She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Charles; her parents, Ellis Lockett and Priscilla Beals Lockett; and her siblings, Margie Bates, Earlene Lockett, Susan Walker, Verce Mae Lockett and Jessie Lockett.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Charles, Jr. of Jeanerette, Earl Charles of Jeanerette, Bernard Charles of New Iberia, Louisiana, Doris Sutton of Houston, Roxanne Charles of Youngsville, Patricia Charles of New Iberia and Sarah Marks (Bernard) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and her siblings, James Lockett, Ellis Lockett, Jr., Elton Lockett and Alberta Kitchen. She is also survived by twenty four grandchildren, and forty five great grandchildren, along with a host of relatives and friends.
